Lisa H. Downs MSN, CRNP, is Coordinator of the Lymphoma Program at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. In addition, she works in collaborative practice with Stephen J. Schuster, MD, as a Nurse Practitioner, focusing on the care of patients with lymphoma and other blood cancers.
Ms. Downs earned her master of science in nursing degree from the Thomas Jefferson University in 1998 and completed the requirements to become a CRNP. After which she was invited to work in collaboration with Dr. Schuster. They strive to develop new therapies for lymphoma with a focus on biologic strategies.
An invited speaker on a broad number of topics that deal with lymphoma and the care of patients with hematologic malignancies, Lisa Downs has lectured on both the local and national scene. The results of her work have appeared in such peer-reviewed journals as Blood, Anals of Oncology, Oncology Nursing Forum, and Leukemia & Lymphoma. In addition, she is co-author of the chapter, "Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma," in Women and Cancer, published by Elsevier Press.
